Heard the opening note and went "holy shit really?" and yeah, it's Wasting My Hate after God knows how many years.

I thought this was just going to be a 30 min acoustic show running through their usual acoustic songs (which would be been great enough already).I never expected a full band electric versions of House of the Rising Sun and now Wasting My Hate. This show is incredible and I’m so hyped and confused haha

Lmao James completely fucked up his solo in Puppets and just went with it and played whatever. Incredible.

I actually wasn’t going to bother with this and forgot about it, but saw the preview song pop up on YouTube and thought for $20 why not, missed the first few songs but will go back and watch them later. It’s actually been amazing, so glad I caught it.

I like how James nailed a song with only one rehearsal but fucked up lyrics and solo on most played hits.

Autopilot failing on the classics versus a song he was consciously trying to perform well. It’s always the way with the band, their debuts are generally always great then they get looser with the songs the more they play them.

Yeah it was obvious they really rehearsed these new songs but miscalculated how out of practice they are with the staples. I've never seen the middle section of MOP that rough, but at the same time I don't really care much since Covid is a fair excuse for that, and I'm not looking for a new great version of MOP anyway. House is a welcome addition, and overall I would wholely welcome the expanded band and the sound of it for an acoustic album and/or tour. It was cool to see Avi and keys guy play on House. Almost like they were going to do it acoustic but switched it over.

So my initial thought BEFORE hearing the show.....
Missed opportunity. Why oh why did they plug in? This could have been a really cool opportunity to rework the catalog and drop in some new/rarely played covers.
Do we really need another version of Sandman plugged in? I’d have much preferred the creepy version from the last AWMH show.
I shall come back to this thread after I’ve heard the show.

Just finished watching. Awesome indeed.
Creeping Death!!!!! And of course DH acoustic electric were my highlights.
Blind man was excellent
I'll have to relisten to house of the rising Sun, I really didn't dig it off the first time.
Wasting my hate was sweet. The rest was the usual.
The talking to fans stuff was awkward but fun (the bird LoL)
And that guy dressed in Papa Ghost makeup A+
3:15 AM here, kids will up soon, better get some sleep.
Definitely a cool deal. So glad I didn't skip this one out.

Nice surprise. Well done, boys.
James will take part in an acoustic benefit show before the year ends so we might hear one of these rare renditions again.

I watched the preview, didn't like seeing a bunch of employee's live faces on screens from some who-gives-a-shit company surrounding the stage. I assume a big donation was given by the company, but still.

I'm shocked no one whipped it out. This was Smithers chance, how disappointing, he failed us.

No, the opposite, my cock is so large it wouldn't fit on those tiny square screens. You'd need to link up at least 50 of them to be able to show my magnificent specimen in it's full glory.

So watching it live was not possible for us here so I stayed away from any spoilers and waited til Friday night to get this show up. I unfortunately had 1.5 hours of getting it running (mobile phone was no good, had to use laptop) and for over half of it the show was glitchy, buffering, anger-inducing fucking pain which we struggled through (was unwatchable in parts) - I was seeing how amazing the set was unfolding through the shittiest way possible. It did come good with only minor glitches, and I was able to rewatch some of the earlier songs that had been ruined. That was tough viewing. I will try again maybe tonight because there was plenty to enjoy. House of the Rising Sun was my favourite of the night...sounded great Lots of surprises with Disposable being done like that. Wasting my Hate sounded great also. Not sold on the Creep version, will take another listen. After the first 3 songs or so I was thinking my enthusiasm for buying the audio on a physical format had disappeared, but as soon as James started playing the Yardbirds song ( ) I was back to being very keen.

That sucks Ford. Fuck technology!
Half the set I'll never listen to again, but the other half will definitely be on repeat for a while.

I've got a few hours left of my purchase so will be trying again in my music room, where I have an Eth cable. Wifi and chromecast I reckon was the downfall. Stereo kicks arse in there but smaller screen. Feel about the same with the setlist. I wonder if they fix the mistakes before releasing the audio. Lars had a moment near the end of Rising Sun and the MoP solo was funky....(I love the errors, perfection is overrated )....did notice Kirk was on point for the fast solo that followed James, he did alright Mr Hammett

"A complimentary Video on Demand of this show will be added to your Stash on Nov. 17th, 2020 and will expire on Dec. 17, 2020 or 48 hours after playback."
This means we can watch it again right?

Any word on when we can claim our mp3 download? I received an email saying that the audio files would be a couple of weeks away
(followed by another email apologising for accidentally sending me the 1st email - I didnt buy the mp3 package)
BTW, its been more than 48hours since I watched the show and I can still access it - got it on in the background now.

Prediction:
Now that they have played Disposable Heroes heavy in their acoustic way, the modern Metallica will never play DH in the traditional way ever again. I suspect other more challenging songs (ie the fast ones) will receive the same treatment as time moves along.
