They've been jamming around enough to rewrite Blackened, I think rehearsing some of the more obscure stuff isn't a stretch, especially to make it extra special and enticing.
Or screw rehearsals all together, an interactive, spin the wheel to play the next song, fuck ups and all would be awesome and silly fun.
The sound will sound flat like all those radio shows they've done. A roaring crowd, or tons of reverb to give space is a must.
Ok, enough pointless bitching. I'm happy they're alive, last fall it was all up in the air, come to Brazil ❤️

Well in that case they shouldn't be encouraging 6 people to spend time in a closed car for a couple of hours during this pandemic which all medical advice advises against being in close proximity with people indoors for more than 15 mins. They could have united their fanbase who are stuck indoors all over the world with a cool live stream opened to every one with donations going to their charity...but nah $120 tickets to sell during a worldwide crisis. Seems like a shitty idea to me no matter how you cut it sorry. Just like all the crazily overpriced S&M2 and deluxe car book stuff. I don't disagree, just offering the balance you flamin' galah.

They should do it like Trivium did. Rented a venue, high production stage, 10 dollars a ticket, streamed it live. It was awesome.

Man, what a joke. I thought the idea of streamed gig would be something that they couldn't possibly fuck up too badly, but then they went ahead and did it anyway. It's a shame. There's a lot more potential here than just a bog standard rehearsal room gig with the same typical set sold as a premium theater experience at a ridiculous pricepoint.

Caught a few songs on Facebook Live streams. The video looks great, I heard Fuel, Hardwired, and (an early set) One. All in E flat, btw.

What an absolute farce of a setlist. B-O-R-I-N-G.

So the Roam at Stern's show was an indicator. They seem to be playing everything at the album tempo now or perhaps even slower. I like it.

I was surprised it was as Hardwired heavy as it was. I thought they’d be more or less done promoting it.

We're slowly reaching the point where they'll abandon Hardwired entirely like they did with Death Magnetic, which I'm still salty about.

Moth is gonna stay like Cyanide did (but hopefully for longer), Halo and NTWD are gonna appear sometimes, and probably HW will appear because it's so short and simple. I could see them bringing back the intro (instead of the tape) and having it mid-set.

Depending on how Covid and their schedule goes, I could see them doing a pre-album release Aussie run. That's of course if they can legally get down there and/or if they're slow enough on making another album.

The last time was 2018, which was the first time since 2015. Half the album hasn't been seen in a decade. I don't think one "DM slot" per show is a lot to ask for but even that's a rarity. I just wish there was more album variety on their setlists.

I know it sucks to think about, but when they reach the stage of probably not being able to play 5 or 6 of the really fast ones every night, I'm hoping we'll see some more variety since there's more mid-tempo stuff on HTSD especially (as well as the Loads of course).

I wish they'd start using just one slot in the setlist to play rarities. Just one. Revolve them out. Play everything. Even songs I don't like from St. Anger and Reload would be a breath of fresh air.

I would love to see them play more Load/Reload stuff. This also makes me wonder if it'll affect their writing going forward. You'd think more mid-tempo and shorter songs are the way to go if they want this to be sustainable.

They did for awhile at some point (can't remember when) but then it got relegated to "oldie from KEA or cover", then pretty much just Litez or Whiplash. I had so many high hopes for that slot too and it went away.
If they just did that and swapped Sad for 'heavy song slot' alone their sets would become 10x better.

I hope the next one is a little less produced. It never bothered me initially, but the perfection of Lars’ drum hits gets boring after awhile.

I don't know, we got that with Death Magnetic and it just felt like a subpar performance.
