Those May 2015 sets are going to end up being the rarest sets of their whole career.

As early 90s Metallica would say: That's a pretty nutty setlist.

Hm, it's really only Trapped under ice which feels like a rarity in that setlist to me, and even that song was played 13 times that year.

I mention this because Lars must've been fucking exhausted after that setlist. You're right though, not necessarily a crazy setlist. It's cool they opened with Fight Fire With Fire.

Mexico 3/3/2017 will be the last Metallica Monday :( Unfortunately the next show had the more 'rare' set with the debut of Dream No More and TV Eye with Iggy, but we have pro-shot videos of those songs already anyway.
I absolutely loved that the band did this series at all, I couldn't be more happy with all of the content they gave us for free.

Every week I am wondering if this is the last one. So we have reached the end have we? Can't be too upset, gotta be grateful for what they did and for how long. Its been a staple here at home - everyone knows what happens here Tuesday arvo. Neighbours should be pleased its over though - (or is it? )

I know Metallica gets flak for a bunch of shit, but these Metallica Mondays are the coolest things I've seen a band or artist do. They didn't have to do this shit at all, but they did...they did.

They really do make some strange and contradictory decisions don't they?
a. Free online streaming recorded concerts every week for 23 weeks, donations go to charity. b. Week 24 charge $170 to watch a recorded concert at a drive in.
a. Slap logo on and sell basically every random consumer item on the planet for an inflated price. b. Start and fun non-profit charity with a main aim of supporting Food Banks all over the world.

I think Metallica (and their management) have a 'do everything' policy except getting new albums out in a more desirable amount of time.

MetallicaMonday tour shirts advertised after this Mexico show made me chuckle but people like to keep a piece of these things

To wrap up, they gave us shows from 1983, 1989, 1991, 1994, 1997, 1999, 2000, 2004, and every year between 2006 and 2019 except for 2018. That's damn good boyz.

Oh the donations to the foundation went to charity, but I bet you they made a lot of money from YouTube revenues alone, the shows are remastered and sold on LiveMetallica and they sold that exclusive t-shirt. Nothing is for free with those guys anymore.

Well, the only thing I can think of are the vault shows released on LM back in the day. But now you have to pay for those as well.

But I get the point you’re making about the commercialism of the band these days.....

So this last Metallica Monday show was pretty cool. Bit of missing energy in the beginning I thought, and they put a couple of crowd participation songs in there early (Seek and Memory) before pulling out Unforgiven III. Band seemed to relax once that was done. Spit was in there also, pretty good setlist overall

You tuned in for the worst part of the show. Giant fake drums, this time hidden by light screens Terrible idea doing this drum thing.
Were you watching delayed or live ? - that could be why you had trouble donating. Send the money to me and I'll be sure it gets to the right bottle-o people.
