Newest show is up, Manchester from 2019. I wasn't much of a fan of their performances last year (the long tour cycle definitely started to take its toll) and the setlists weren't particularly crazy either so eh. Also for some reason the audio is in mono, wtf is up with that?

Just like S&M2, I cant help but analyse James knowing what happened a few months after.
They really got drenched that night haha
Watching this one got me pissed off about missing the Aus/NZ tour all over again.

Wow Melbourne's Soundwave gig is up this week! So pumped as that's probably the best Metallica show I've been to. Great setlist and great performances from memory, especially My Friend Of Misery which in my opinion is the best performance of the song we've had.

I still remember reading your old review of the show on the old forum. Super happy for you that a show you've been to is getting released, and I'm looking forward to the stream! Those 5 Aussie shows in early 2013 were the last super diverse group of shows the band did IIRC. I think it was like 40+ songs across all of them.

Front row, pit?

You will see a bunch of us in black and red shirts for the Melbourne Militia MetClub chapter...Het mentions it some of his crowd banter. Was such a great tour, the band were on fire in 2012 and early 2013. Great setlists and performances that whole tour.

Hope they do a Metallica Monday for one of the smaller gigs. Didn't they just do the House of Vans gig a couple of weeks back?

Tough to wait out the day before watching this one.
Adelaide had Thingy, Melb got Leper that tour, so good.

Enjoy the show mate.
I'd join you watching online, but I have a sick boy at home and some work I should get stuck into.

Tuned in just in time for Misery! I can't believe this is the only time they played it outside of the full album.

Oh my GOD. Did they accidentally copy and paste Kirk's solo over the second half of the song when they were mixing it?

Hope your boy is feeling better mate, watch the show when you can, it's worth it. I wonder if they filmed all the Soundwave shows? Maybe the Adelaide one will get a release some time in the future.

Still blown away by their choices for this. If you asked me to list my top 10 shows off the top of my head that I wanted to see, they've already hit like half of them (Lima 2014, Melbourne 2013, Germany 2015, one of the Copenhagen 2009 shows, an early TBA tour show, a TBA 20th anniversary show).
Gimme a late May/Early June 2008 show, a 2003 show, a MOP 20th anniversary show, and one of those 1995 shows and I'll be floored. I'd love the Fillmore shows too, but I think they'd be planning on something with that for the 40th anniversary next year.

He's back at school today after 2 days home with me, thanks yep.
I watched the show last night. Haven't missed any of these MetMonday deals, each one has been excellent other than the early 80s one (only because it was one from a boxset) I did catch James mentioning the shirts, "You guys in a Gang or something" I wanna be in your gang! Do they let Adelaidians in?
Did you see yourself in the crowd during the show at all?
I'm wondering if all these later shows are available to edit and show like this due to the cameras rolling all night for the bigscreens on stage? I would love to see Adelaide but the Melbourne show felt personal enough already.... they really love Melbourne, he calls it Melbs haha. After seeing them in 2010 in Adelaide (M&G night) we drove over to see them at Rod Laver. I still kick myself for not attending every show while I was there. I was literally driving past the arena the night they played Outlaw Torn, thinking I should be heading in there. Those setlists

Everyone gave the band a lot of shit for loosening up in 2006-2010ish but as a whole unit I think they sound a lot tighter than they do now. James' voice is much better now though. As a whole I think 2012-2015 is gonna go down as the band's best live period in the 2000s.

Loving the fact that James breaks out an OG black Explorer for Devils Dance. NOICE! And Kirk's solo in the song is pretty sweet too.

Yeah I can't believe that song got no plays after the short little resurgence that week. I think they played it like 4 times in 2008? Then never again :(

Both Bleeding and Devils Dance were nice surprises when they started.
NEM right after Whiplash was an odd choice though.
And dont recall Last Caress and So What played together like that before either. James couldnt bring himself to use all the swear words haha
