The Dragon and Frustration riffs are amazing and would have been amazing Metallica songs.
The production was a shit load better than Death Magnetic.

Oh well, I really like Lulu, Disc 2 drags a bit I find, but Disc1 is super cool. Pumping Blood, Mistress Dread, Iced Honey, The View, Brandenburg Gates, all great songs I can listen to any old time.

I'm now leaning towards a 2017 release. I was set on 2016, but damn it's practically March already.
Would they announce it's finished before or after physical production? From there it's still a couple months right?

I think they're gonna go to 12 albums. They'll do this one and a double one to wrap up their career. Haha, I read that first as a joke from you thinking they will make another 12 albums.

From there it's still a couple months right? I checked the news archive for how they did it with Death Magnetic. This was what I could find: - The revealing of the album title started on June 11 and was revealed in full on June 14 which is basically 3 months before release (September 12)
- The release date of the album was revealed on August 1 (a little more than a month before release).
- ...And on August 10 (more or less 1 month before release) they announced that the mixing and mastering of the album was done.

If nothing turns up by July then you can say 2017

Interesting. Thanks for looking that up. I didn't know the mastering announcement was last. I've always wondered how they choose the order of songs too.

I've always wondered how they choose the order of songs too. Metallica have a miniature mountain beside HQ where Torben Ulrich, dressed like Charlton Heston, reads off the album track listing to the Members of Metallica and management, who watch while seated in lawn chairs!

I've always wondered how they choose the order of songs too. Lars pees in a cup. However many inches of pee made it into the cup is how many tracks will be in the album. Then. They draw that number of tracks out of a hat and those are what's on the album. The only exception to this was the Losd production era, where Lars started bleeding while peeing so they released everything.

I'm starting to give up on this 'new album', i can bet we'll get an interview soon saying they are still at the early stages of recording and to not hold your breath because they are taking their time blah blah. This has become a joke.

Yeah the St Anger release is the one that I'm most eager to have because of all that material. But I don't expect it to be available for a long time

So by the time they get around to the later albums, the formats the are working with will be obsolete.

Kirk's latest interview -
We are still sorting through riffs, it sounds like St. Anger.
I've got no evidence or links obviously.
