pedals... I hate these effects, so artificial, besides, guitar is supposed to be played with hands, not feet. Maybe a guitarist isn't creative enough if effects are needed to make things work.

The guitarist from Red Hot Chili Peppers has almost every pedal known to man on his pedal board.
It's ridiculous.

Hey guys - buy my new pedal - i totally invented and built each one myself. I sourced all the parts and placed each PCB and soldered each connection.
Plus i'm the only person who uses guitar pedals that actually plays guitar !!
Wellll. You say "plays".

Pretty easy to paint yourself into a corner with that line of thinking.

It is a bit odd to think that all the guitar pedals manufactured over the years all came from people that were not guitarists. Who did he think was behind it all - plumbers?

I understand what you're saying Jayzon, i'm having real doubts about this album. All the delays to me point to little or no progress, it wouldn't surprise me if they are still sorting through riffs. Now, I really wouldn't go that far. I think it's fairly obvious that they have made some progress. How much? I have no idea. But I feel pretty confident that they're not sorting through riffs anymore, and I think that they already have a bunch of songs written. They might even have a few songs fully recorded already. At least they have some PARTS recorded. But other than that, I really have no idea. At this point, it wouldn't surprise me if they announced another album delay. "We have decided to scrap it all and start fresh!" Lol No but seriously, I (like many) am getting a bit bored with everything. Nothing will stimulate my Metallica mind other than some new Damn music already! My metallica dopamine levels are almost nonexistent

Kirk was probably just thinking that it was solely business men running companies like that

People are using it as an excuse to just be dicks to Kirk, I think. Yes, his tweet was poorly worded but the amount of f-ake o-utrage is just fucking silly. Pretty sure he meant no disrespect to any other guitar player who makes pedals etc etc
Also, as far as new Metallica music goes, my advice would be to just move on, let the band rest in your musical foundations ready to be either bolstered or destroyed when new music arrives. Waiting and being anxious/bored/needy/impatient/excited about anything new from the band is only going to lead you to despair.
Pretend they don't exist, immerse yourself in other shit and then when it finally rolls around that it is time for new music you'll be so disinterested and in another place that you can approach the music with an open mind. Getting bent outta shape anticipating guarantees that it will not live up to your expectations.

I don't like the term prequels suck, it trivialises bitter disappointment.

idk about you folks but guitar pedals are cool: Maybe he meant "an actual guitar player that matters". i am sure the guitarist in the niche noise rock band matters a lot to the rock and the roll music! (s/o to the lads, they mostly use their own pedals iirc) here's ol' Olly's pedal company for anyone at all who is interested (and would like to buy me a present <3): www.deathbyaudio.net/The guitarist from Red Hot Chili Peppers has almost every pedal known to man on his pedal board. It's ridiculous. I read somewhere that sometimes Omar Rodriquez-Lopez would use something like 200 for a Mars Volta show (not including the pedals the actual guy they had to manipulate sound had).

I love how all these guys are all upset with Kirk on Twitter but if you brought any one of those guys into a room, and Kirk was standing there, they would have their pants down around their ankles and be bent over so fast, and they would be tweeting about it mid swallow.
