Read over on the new boards that this is an old interview. Rob said in December that " they're mostly done instrumentally".
Maybe Kirk meant in his frazzled brain that they have yet to finish vocals on any songs.
Or they have yet to mix any songs...
I find it very unlikely that they're still writing.

I just read that and I literally just hit my desk with my face. In hindsight it was probably a bad idea, but that's exactly the kind of reaction I had. I mean, at this point it's just like "FUCK!" whenever shit like this comes up after all these years. But then again this is Kirk and he's never right about stuff so I don't know if it's true or this is just an old interview, or both for that matter.
Also, I'm pretty sure this is my first post here. So, hello everybody?

I find it hard to believe that since Lulu and TTN that Lords of Summer is the one song that they've completed to the point where they would play it live and give it an official release but NO other songs are finished. NOTHING?! Come on. In 2 years they've finished ONE SONG?? That wont even be on the album???

Yeah maybe "no finished songs" means a song hasn't been printed on a record yet and not until that first album is off the line and into stores it is "finished".

Maybe Rolling Stone misheard/misunderstood him and he meant there will be no songs sang in the Finnish language on this album, which if the case could likely be the first 100% true statement in a Kirk album related interview ever.

The quote doesn't say " we haven't finished writing any songs " because remember when James said " we have several songs In The Bag " ???
Obviously they have songs written or they wouldn't be recording. Why would you record unfinished songs ?
Last December Rob said that the songs were mostly instrumentally recorded.
Kirk probably means that vocals have yet to be done on a song.
And can we stop the "it's not out til 2018" bullshit ?
